K3 Business Technology Group PLC24 May 2006 K3 BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY GROUP PLC ("K3" or "the Company") Board Appointment The Board of K3 is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Adam Milne as aChairman. Mr Milne's appointment takes immediate effect and he replaces GeorgeMatthews who is stepping down from the Board today. Tom Milne, aged 59 years, is very well known within the retail software industryand he has substantial experience in developing successful software companies inthis sector. Tom was the founder director of Riva Group plc, one of the firsttrue Microsoft Windows retail software houses in the UK. He floated the companyon the USM in 1988, and continued growing the business until his retirement in1993. He then went on to found Metabet Ltd, which developed electronic point ofsale terminals for betting shops. This was adopted by several major bookmakers,including Coral group, and the business was subsequently sold to Alphameric plc.In recent years, Tom has maintained an active interest in the retail softwaresector. His current directorships are Retroform Limited and Team KnowledgeLimited. Tom has an interest in 100,000 K3 shares, representing 0.6% of the currentissued share capital of the Company. Chief executive, Andy Makeham, commented, "I am delighted that Tom Milne is joining K3 as Chairman. His depth ofexperience and breadth of knowledge, especially of the retail software industry,will be of enormous benefit to the company as we pursue our growth strategy. I would also like to thank George Matthews who is stepping down as Chairmantoday. His contribution to the company over the last four years has beensignificant."
