TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS AND SHARE CAPITAL UPDATE

In accordance with the requirements of the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, Johnston Press plc hereby notifies the market that as at 30 May 2014 the issued capital is 703,970,757 ordinary shares of 1p each.

Johnston Press plc does not hold any ordinary shares in Treasury.

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in Johnston Press plc is 703,970,757.

The above figure (703,970,757) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Johnston Press plc under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.

This figure does not include the Nil Paid Rights to subscribe for new ordinary shares pursuant to the Rights Issue. A separate announcement in relation to total voting rights will be made when the Rights Issue closes and the new ordinary shares of 1p, fully paid, are issued, which is expected to be on 13 June 2014.
