Johnston Press plc, one of the leading regional media groups in the UK and Ireland, announces that Ashley Highfield, who will join the Company as its new Chief Executive Officer and as a Director of the Company on 1 November 2011, purchased 225,689 ordinary shares at a price of 4.4p per share and 108,906 ordinary shares at a price of 4.55p per share on 21 October 2011. He now holds a total of 711,818 ordinary shares representing 0.111% per cent of the Company's issued share capital.
