DIRECTORS'/PDMR SHAREHOLDINGS
The Company announces that on 5 June 2013 the following directors and senior executives were granted awards over ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company under the terms of the Johnston Press Performance Share Plan 2006 (the "PSP"). No consideration was paid for the grant of the PSP awards. The Committee was prohibited from making the PSP awards during April as originally planned.

Subject to the achievement of the performance criteria, the PSP awards will normally vest on 5 June 2016 and may, to the extent vested, be exercised during the 12 month period ending 4 June 2017. No consideration is payable on the exercise of the PSP awards. Mr Highfield is entitled to a minimum level of PSP award in each of 2012 and 2013. In total Mr Highfield has received 19,605,785 PSP awards since he joined the Company.
* Beneficial Interest: This includes shares held in trust under the Johnston Press Share Incentive Plans, which holds shares to satisfy awards under those plans (open to all eligible employees in the United Kingdom).
** Total Interest Including Non-Beneficial: This includes shares held by Johnston Press plc Employee Share Trust (a Jersey Trust) which holds shares in order to satisfy awards under the Company's Performance Share Plan for executives and the Irish Restricted Stock Unit Scheme (open to all eligible employees in the Republic of Ireland).
