Johnston Press PLC29 June 2006 Johnston Press plc (the "Company") The Company was notified today that the Johnston Press plc Employee Share Trustpurchased 400,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company at an average of412.08p per share on 28 and 29 June 2006. The interests of each of the executivedirectors and members of the Group Management Board in the ordinary shares ofthe Company therefore increased by 400,000 shares each, solely by virtue oftheir status as potential beneficiaries of the Trust.
