BoardΒ AppointmentΒ
Johnston Press plc, one of the leading regional media groups in theΒ UKΒ andΒ Ireland, announces thatΒ MarkΒ PainΒ will becomeΒ a NonΒ Executive DirectorΒ of the CompanyΒ and Chairman of the Audit Committee with effect fromΒ 1stΒ May 2009.
Mark PainΒ (FCA), aged 47,Β hasΒ spentΒ overΒ 10Β years as anΒ Executive Board Director as well as gaining significant independentΒ Non ExecutiveΒ experience.
Since 2007 Mark has beenΒ a Non Executive Director andΒ Audit Committee member of Punch Taverns plc, one of theΒ UK's leading pub groups, and from 2006Β MarkΒ has beenΒ Group Finance Director of Barratt Developments PlcΒ ("Barratt"),Β theΒ UK's largest housebuilder. Mark wasΒ formerlyΒ GroupΒ Finance DirectorΒ of Abbey National Group PlcΒ ("Abbey")Β between 1998 and 2001,Β and also served as Chief Executive of Abbey National Treasury Services and as Abbey Group Sales Director betweenΒ 2001 and 2005.
