JKX Oil & Gas plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Murray as Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1st January 2013.

Richard Murray has recently retired from the position of Audit Partner at Ernst & Young after more than 35 years of service. His expertise ranges from developing the firm's mid-market clients to providing advice on acquisitions, restructuring and other corporate finance activities of major international companies, both listed and private.

Richard graduated from Trinity College Dublin before joining Ernst & Young in 1972 within the Financial Reporting Group. He subsequently became partner in 1984 and Senior Audit Partner in 1999.

There are no other matters requiring disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
