NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION IN OR INTO THE UNITED STATES 9 October 2009 JJB Sports PLC Statement re press speculation JJB Sports PLC ("JJB Sports" or the "Company") notes the recent speculation regarding a capital raising. Further to the statement made in the Company's interim results announcement on 24 September 2009 the Board has reviewed a range of options to provide additional capital for the group. The Company confirms that it is finalising arrangements for an equity issue to raise £100 million. A further announcement will be made shortly.
