APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
JD Sports Fashion Plc (the 'Group'), the leading retailer of sports, fashion and outdoor brands, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Rubin as a Non-Executive Director.
Andy is Chairman of Pentland Brands, a Director of Pentland Group plc and the European Vice-President of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry. He has experience of brand development outside of Europe, which will be of considerable use in supporting the continued successful global expansion of the Group.
Peter Cowgill, Executive Chairman, commented:
"I am pleased to announce that Andy has agreed to join the Board. His experience of managing and developing brands internationally will add to our Board as we continue the international expansion of the JD brand."
Pentland Group plc owns a 57.47% stake in the Group. There are no matters which require to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13.
