INTERSERVE NAMED PREFERRED BIDDER FOR 200m HSBC FM CONTRACT

Interserve, the services, maintenance and building group, has been named preferred bidder by HSBC for a 200 million contract to provide facilities management (FM) services across the banking and financial services organisation's property portfolio in the UK.

The portfolio comprises over 1,600 retail and 80 office sites and includes buildings in Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. It also covers HSBC's global headquarters in Canary Wharf, London, building on the relationship Interserve already has with HSBC through providing the security services there. The contract, one of the largest of its kind in the UK, is expected to be signed in the autumn and will then run for three years with an option to extend thereafter for a further two. Interserve's services will include:

* Mechanical and electrical maintenance * Building fabric maintenance * FM help desk * Front-of-house services (mailroom, porterage and reception) * Cleaning * Catering and vending * Grounds maintenance * Waste services * Utility management
