INTERIM MANAGEMENT STATEMENT
Interserve, the international support services and construction group, is issuing its Interim Management statement covering the period from 1st January 2014 to date.
Highlights
· Trading in line with the Board's expectations for 2014
· Continued good work winning in the first quarter, maintaining strong visibility
· Completion of Initial Facilities acquisition: integration on track
Chief Executive Adrian Ringrose commented:
"Conditions in most of our markets are improving and work winning during the period has been good. Year to date performance for the Group is as expected and early progress with Initial is on-track, which underpins our confidence in meeting expectations for 2014."
During the period we have won work from clients including the UK's Department for Education, Christie NHS Foundation, Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Mercedes-Benz, CBRE, Haribo, Centre for Process Innovation, University of Birmingham, Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service and Southampton City Council. Our subsidiary Landmarc has also been selected as preferred bidder by DIO for the National Training Estate Prime, continuing our role of supporting critical military training across the UK until 2019, with an option for a further five year extension (www.interserve.com/news-media).
Internationally, work won in the quarter included further oil & gas industry contracts in Oman and UAE, while in Qatar, work won included prestigious projects worth more than £100 million, such as Doha Festival City, the country's largest retail and entertainment development, and for the Al Jazeera News Network. Equipment Services continues to show good growth, with work-winning in the period including projects at Abu Dhabi International Airport and motorway upgrade works in the UK.
There is no material change in our financial position since we reported as at 31st December 2013 and as anticipated in our circular of 28th February.
