IMAGE SCAN APPOINTED GLOBAL DISTRIBUTOR FOR SERSTECH AB
Image Scan (AIM: IGE), specialists in the field of X-ray imaging for the security and industrial inspection markets, has signed a global distribution agreement with Serstech AB (SERT), a Swedish technology company working in the field of chemical analysis.
Under the agreement, Image Scan will market Serstech's range of highly portable chemical analysers to bomb squads, hazardous material investigation teams and customs organisations through its global distribution network. In different scenarios, the technology is used to identify explosives, explosive precursors, chemical spills, and illegal drugs. The chemical analysers can be supplied as stand-alone items or integrated with an Image Scan portable X-ray system to create a uniquely powerful capability for threat detection and identification.
Serstech's products use a technology called Raman Spectroscopy to compare the signature of a target substance against a library and can identify more than 14,000 different chemicals. The latest Arx handheld detector uses Serstech's SharpEyeTM focussing technology to differentiate between the chemical signatures of the target substance and that of the container it is in, allowing the substance to be identified rapidly and safely without removing it from its container.
Serstech AB (SERT) has been listed on Nasdaq First North Stockholm since 2016.
