During May 2014 Halyk Bank has writen-off some corporate non-performingloans for total amount of about KZT 30 bn against previously createdprovisions. This led to reduction in stock of NPLs 90 days+ from KZT 292.7bn as at 1 May 2014 to KZT 261.9 bn as at 1 June 2014. The ratio of NPLs190 days+ decreased from 16.5% as at 1 May 2014 to 14.8%2 as at 1 June 2014. Achieved level of NPLs1 is in line with the target ratio of 15% set by theNational Bank of Kazakhstan which should be met by 1 January 2015. The Bank will continue collection of written-off loans in accordance withits regular procedures. This achievement is accomplished thanks to recent legislative changes andregulatory initiatives. Halyk Bank will continue to reduce the level of non-performing loansfurther using transfer of loans to the SPV 'Halyk Project' LLP andDistressed Assets Fund of the National Bank of Kazakhstan as well as takingother actions allowed under current legislation.
