Hochschild Mining appoints Independent Non-Executive Director and CEO of Volcan Project
Hochschild Mining PLC (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Tracey Kerr as an independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 10th December 2021.
Tracey is a Non-Executive Director of FTSE 100 company, Polymetal International PLC, a position she has held since January 2018, where she chairs the Safety and Sustainability Committee and is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
Tracey spent almost 10 years working for Anglo American plc, most recently as the Group Head of Sustainable Development (Sept 2020 to April 2021) having previously also been accountable for safety, operational risk management and sustainable development across the Anglo American group (Jan 2016 to August 2020). Prior to working in sustainability, Tracey worked as a geologist where, between July 2008 and August 2011, she oversaw Vale's exploration activities in the Americas and subsequently joined Anglo American as Group Head of Exploration where she was responsible for exploration activities in 15 countries.
Tracey is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy AUSIMM and is a member of the Society of Economic Geologists, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the Institute of Directors.
The Company also announces the appointment, from 15th December 2021, of Greg McCunn as the CEO of Volcan, the Company's early-stage gold project in Chile with almost 9 million ounces of resources. Greg has over 25 years' experience of working in gold and base metals including over ten years in CEO and CFO roles. Most recently Greg was the CEO of Toronto-listed Galiano Gold Inc. and, before that, of Alio Gold Inc (now Argonaut Gold).

From 10th December 2021 when, as previously announced, Sanjay Sarma will be stepping down as a Non-Executive Director, the Hochschild Board of nine members will comprise six independent Non-Executive Directors.
Other than as disclosed above, there are no additional matters to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13R with respect to Tracey Kerr's appointment.
