HELICAL BAR PLC ("Helical Bar "or "the Company")
NOTIFICATION OF INTERESTS OF DIRECTORS AND CONNECTED PARTIES
The Company was informed today that the following transactions had taken place:
1. Performance Share Plan Awards
On 19 September 2008 shares awarded under the terms of the Helical Bar plc Performance Share Plan 2004 were made available to directors and employees of the Company. These shares were originally allocated on 6 July 2005 and having met their performance criteria are available to be taken by the award-holders.
Shares awarded to the directors and the net shares retained after payment of associated tax liabilities are as follows:

2. Exercise of Share Options
On 19 September 2008 subscription options over 108,406 new ordinary 1p shares and purchase options over 561,594 ordinary 1p shares held by the Company's ESOP Trust were exercised in accordance with the Helical Bar 1999 Share Option Scheme.
Following the exercise of these options the Company had 97,310,318 ordinary 1p shares in issue.
Included in these transactions are options exercised by the following directors:
Michael Slade
A purchase option over 96,880 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over 170,000 shares at 150.0p per share.
Michael Brown
A purchase option over 198,950 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over 355,000 shares at 153.3p per share.
Nigel McNair Scott
A purchase option over 80,664 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over 142,000 shares at 150.0p per share.
Gerald Kaye
A purchase option over 118,800 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over 212,000 shares at 153.3p per share.
Jack Pitman
A purchase option over 66,300 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over 120,000 shares at 156.0p per share and a subscription option over 108,406 new shares exercised as originally granted at 156.0p per share.
3. Sale of shares
On 19 September 2009 the following Directors sold shares in the Company:
Michael Slade
96,880 shares sold at 348.6p per share.
Michael Brown
198,950 shares sold at 348.6p per share.
Nigel McNair Scott
80,664 shares sold at 348.6p per share.
Gerald Kaye
118,800 shares sold at 348.6p per share.
Jack Pitman
174,706 shares sold at 348.6p per share.
