Hill & Smith Hldgs PLC08 October 2007 Notification under paragraph 3.1.2R of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules Hill & Smith Holdings PLC ("Hill & Smith" or the "Company") announces that it has been notified today that Mrs Marion R Burr, the spouse of Mr Christopher J Burr (a person discharging managerial responsibilities within Hill & Smith) purchased 130,000 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of 398.5 pence per share on 5 October 2007. The place of this transaction was the London Stock Exchange. Following this transaction, Mr Christopher J Burr is beneficially interested in 130,000 ordinary shares in the Company, representing approximately 0.2% of the issued share capital of Hill & Smith, and has options over 12,360 ordinary shares.
