Hill & Smith Hldgs PLC21 August 2006 Board appointment The Board of Hill & Smith Holdings PLC ("Hill & Smith" or the "Company") ispleased to announce that it has appointed Derek William Muir (aged 46) as anExecutive Director of the Company with immediate effect. Derek Muir has been a senior manager within the Hill & Smith Group for manyyears. He was appointed managing director of Hill & Smith Limited, one of theGroup's principal subsidiaries, in 1998 and since 2001 has been the managingdirector of the core Infrastructure Products division. He is the beneficialowner of 8,855 ordinary shares in the Company and has options over a further90,474 ordinary shares. He is not a director of any other publicly quotedcompany and there are no other matters which are required to be disclosed byparagraphs 9.6.13(2)-6) of the Listing Rules.
