Highland Gold Mining Limited25 April 2008 Highland Gold Mining Limited Board Changes Announcement 25 April 2008 Highland Gold Mining Limited ("Highland"), the AIM quoted Russian gold producer,announces the appointment, effective today, of Terry Robinson to its Board ofDirectors. Mr Robinson becomes Audit Chairman, replacing David Fish after histragic death last year. Duncan Baxter who has been acting Audit Chairman, stepsdown from the Board of Highland on 29 April 2008, but remains in an executiverole. Highland, and JPMorgan Cazenove as the Company's Nominated Adviser, havereviewed and accepted the nomination and the Directors are pleased to welcome MrRobinson to the Board. He was 20 years at Lonrho PLC, theinternational mining and trading group; and the last 10 years as a main boarddirector. Since 1998 he has been variously occupied with international businessrecovery engagements and investment projects including natural resources in theUK, Russia, the CIS and Brazil. He is an independent non-executive director ofthe London Stock Exchange GDR quoted Evraz Group SA, the largest Russianvertically integrated steel producer. He is Chairman of the Evraz Group auditcommittee and a member of the Evraz strategy committee. He is an independentnon-executive director of the Toronto listed Katanga Mining Limited with copperand cobalt mining operations in the DRC and is a member of Katanga's auditcommittee and compensation committee and until recently was Managing Director ofInteractive Records Management Ltd, a private equity controlled investment. Heis a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales' nonexecutive director special interest group.
