Non-Executive Director - Appointment

Hilton Food Group plc ("Hilton") is pleased to announce that Colin Smith, ex Chief Executive of Safeway, is to join the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1st October 2010.

Colin Smith is currently Chairman of Poundland Group Holdings Ltd and a Non-

Executive Director of McBride plc. He has extensive experience in the food retailing and distribution industry including 20 years at Safeway plc, the last six years as Chief Executive and, before that, as Finance Director.

Additionally, Colin has previously held Chairmanships at food and agriculture businesses Assured Food Standards, Masstock Group and Blueheath Holdings plc. A Chartered Accountant, Colin has also been involved with not for profit organisations as a past President of the Food Industry Charity, Caravan, and a trustee of Save the Children.
