Holidaybreak, the education, leisure and activity travel group, today announces the appointment of Neil Bright as Group Finance Director, with effect from 1 January 2011. Neil succeeds Bob Baddeley, who is retiring at the end of the year after more than 15 years with the Company.

Neil, 47, is currently group finance director at HMV Group plc. He joined HMV in August 1996 as group finance director from its parent company, Thorn EMI plc, and was appointed to the HMV board as finance director in March 1998. He is a chartered accountant, having qualified with Coopers & Lybrand in London. Neil was appointed as a Non-executive Director of Holidaybreak plc on 27 November 2008 and became Chairman of the Audit Committee on 1 January 2009.

Following the announcement of these changes, the Company will begin an external search for a new Non-executive Director who can take up the position of Chairman of the Audit Committee.

Martin Davies, Group Chief Executive, said:

His time at HMV gives him extensive experience in a consumer-facing and international business. Moreover, having been on the Holidaybreak Board since 2008, Neil is already an important member of the team and has an excellent understanding of the Group and of management's strategy."
