Store Acquisition

H&T Group plc ("H&T" or the "Group"), the UK's leading pawnbroking business by size of pledge book, is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of the trade and assets of James Hempseed and Son, an independent pawnbroker and jeweller located in Glasgow. This acquisition strengthens H&T's presence in Scotland where the Group now trades from 17 stores.

Following this acquisition, H&T now operates from 103 outlets throughout the UK. Two Greenfield stores are scheduled to open by the end of November 2008, taking the total number of stores in the Group to 105, from 89 at the beginning of 2008. This represents a record number of stores added in a year for the Group.
