STORE ACQUISITION
H&T Group plc, the UK’s leading pawnbroking business by size of pledge book, is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of the trade and assets of Lewins, and independent pawnbroker and jeweller located in Orpington, Kent. The acquisition is part of H&T's continued development of its business in the South East of England. H&T proposes to rebrand the stores under the H&T Pawnbrokers brand in the future.
Following these acquisitions, H&T now operates from 99 outlets throughout the UK.
John Nichols, chief executive of H&T, commented: "Lewins has been trading successfully for 28 years, is well-established and has a team of dedicated and experienced staff. We aim to develop the pawnbroking and financial services elements of the business.”
H&T now operates 99 stores throughout the UK and expects to open its 100th store shortly.
