Gyrus Group PLC17 October 2006 Gyrus Group PLC Board Appointment Reading, UK - Gyrus Group PLC (GYG) a leading supplier of medical devices toreduce trauma and complications in surgery, today announces the appointment ofMr John L. Rennocks as a Non-executive Director with effect from 16 October2006. John Rennocks will become a member of the Audit Committee. A qualified chartered accountant, Mr Rennocks has significant experience in thesector, having been finance director of Smith and Nephew plc from 1974 to 1989.Subsequent to that, he was finance director of Powergen plc and Corus Group plcbefore taking up a number of non-executive director positions of public andprivate companies. Mr Rennocks is currently chairman of Nestor plc, anindependent organisation dedicated to providing managed services to the UKhealth and social care market and Diploma plc, a specialised internationaldistribution company. He is also deputy chairman of Inmarsat plc, a globalmobile satellite communications company. Mr Rennocks is a non-executive director of Foreign and Colonial Investment Trustplc, JP Morgan Fleming Overseas Investment Trust plc, Babcock InternationalGroup plc and Wagon plc. Other publicly quoted companies where he previouslyoccupied non-executive positions in the last five years are Oxford Glycosciencesplc and Xenova plc.
