Grainger plc, the UK's largest quoted residential property owner, today announces the appointment of Tony Wray to its Board as a non-executive director. Tony (49) has been the Chief Executive of FTSE 100 water company Severn Trent Plc since 2007, prior to which he worked in senior management positions for British Gas and Transco. He brings to the Grainger Board wide operational and strategic experience of working for major, consumer-facing companies with multiple stakeholders and sites across the country.

Mr Wray is considered independent on appointment under the provisions of the combined code. 

He is currently an independent non-executive director of Energy and Utility Skills, the sector skills council, and is a member of the Business Advisory Board for Living with Environmental Change.

There are no further details that are required to be disclosed in respect of the appointment under LR 9.6.13 R of the Listing Rules of the UK listing Authority.
