Grainger plc, the UK's largest quoted residential property owner, announces that Bill Tudor John retired from the board at today's Annual General Meeting, having been a director of the Company since February 2005 and Senior Independent Director since February 2007.

John Barnsley, who has been a director of Grainger since February 2003 has been nominated as the Company's new Senior Independent Director. John has been a member of the audit committee since his appointment to the board in 2003 and chairman of the committee since 2004. He also sat on the remuneration committee from February 2003 to December 2009.
