Board Change
Greggs plc today announces that Derek Netherton has informed the Board of Directors of his intention to step down as Chairman of the Board and as a director with effect from the close of the next Annual General Meeting, currently scheduled for 15 May 2013.
Derek was appointed as Chairman in March 2002 and, having served for over 10 years, he has decided that he will not offer himself for re-election in 2013.
The Board is pleased to announce that Ian Durant will succeed as Chairman of the Board upon Derek's retirement. Ian was appointed as an independent non-executive director on 5 October 2011 and he is currently Chairman of the Audit Committee. He is also Chairman of Capital and Counties Properties PLC and a non-executive director of Greene King plc and Home Retail Group plc.
The search for a new independent non-executive director to take over the chair of the Audit Committee is now starting.
