Genus PLC08 June 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 8 June 2005 GENUS plc ("Genus" or "the Company") Issue of Equity to Employee Benefit Trust Directors' Share Awards Application has been made today for the admission to trading on AIM of 363,500ordinary shares of 10p each ("ordinary shares"). The ordinary shares have beenissued to the Genus plc Employee Benefit Trust at nominal value in connectionwith the conditional share awards granted in September 2004. These awards haveperformance conditions which relate to growth in earnings per share over a threeyear period and which trigger vesting on an incremental basis. As previouslyannounced on 15th September 2004, of these share awards 121,400 and 86,700 weremade to Mr Richard Wood, Chief Executive and to Mr David Timmins, Group FinanceDirector, respectively. The new ordinary shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the existingshare capital of the company. Trading of the new ordinary shares will commence on 14th June 2005. The Company announces that, under the provision of the Genus plc 2004Performance Share Plan, conditional nil-cost share awards have been made by theRemuneration Committee of the Board to Mr Richard Wood, Chief Executive, as to67,700 shares and to Mr David Timmins, Group Finance Director, as to 49,500shares. These awards have performance conditions which relate to growth inearnings per share over a three year period and which trigger vesting on anincremental basis.
