Genus PLC24 September 2007 Genus PLC24 September 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 24 September 2007 GENUS plc ('Genus' or 'the Company') Directors' Share Awards Genus announces that conditional nil-cost share awards were made under the Genus2004 Performance Share Plan on 21 September 2007 to Mr Richard Wood, ChiefExecutive, as to 154,639 shares in the Company and to Mr Martin Boden, Group Finance Director, as to 34,364 shares. These awards are subject to performance conditions which relate to growth in theCompany's earnings per share over a three year period and which trigger vestingon an incremental basis. Richard Wood's direct shareholding stands at 59,400 ordinary shares whichrepresents 0.1% of the issued share capital of the Company which is currently55,961,538 ordinary shares. In addition, he is the beneficial owner of 611,165share options and conditional shares. Martin Boden does not hold any ordinaryshares in the Company and he is the beneficial owner of 34,364 conditionalshares.
