New Brewing and Food General Manager;
Re-confirmation of commitment to broader food and beverages markets
PDX today announces the appointment of Heinz-Juergen Kroner as General Manager of its Brewing and Food Line of Business.
Mr. Kroner, 46, brings significant experience of developing and commercialising brewing, beverages and food technologies having spent 12 years at GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft ("GEA"), one of the leading global system providers for food and energy processes with turnover in 2009 of EUR $4.4 billion.
Mr. Kroner has held a number of senior leadership positions at GEA, most recently CEO of GEA Brewery Systems (formerly Hupmann AG), and has been working in the sector for over 20 years. Mr. Kroner graduated from the Technical University of Munich, a leading institution in the field of brewing and engineering.
Mr. Kroner will lead the Brewing and Food division, with overall responsibility for the roll out of the PDX technology and developing the strategy in these sectors.
In addition, Mr. Kroner will sit on PDX's management board as Senior Vice President and will report directly to PDX CEO Roel Pieper.
Mr. Kroner will start at PDX in October 2010.
PDX also today re-confirms its commitment to the food and broader beverages markets, in addition to the brewing market. These will fall under the responsibility of the Brewing and Food LOB, which presents a sizeable addressable market opportunity to PDX. PDX continues to be in negotiations with at least three out of the top six top global brewers, plus several local brewers in Europe and the USA, to implement a roll out of the PDX technology. These discussions are progressing well and a further announcement will be made in due course.
