GLOBO plc
("Globo" or the "Group")
Globo awarded €7.5 million mobile solutions project by the
Greek Ministry of Public Order and Citizen Protection
Globo plc (LSE-AIM: GBO), the international provider of enterprise mobility management solutions and software as a service, is delighted to announce that, following a competitive tender and in partnership with its 49% owned associate Globo Technologies S.A., it has won a major contract to supply mobile technology and services to the Greek Ministry of Public Order and Citizen Protection. The total value of the contract is €7.5 million
The project will provide police officers in the field with secure mobile access to Government systems and information, through highly secure, ruggedised tablets. It will also provide officials with a mobile information system offering apps and tools for road traffic control, accidents, traffic law enforcement and administering fines.
This project is currently the largest Government mobility project in Greece, by both value and scope. The project is financed by European Union structural funds and is a pilot project for potential deployment by other European governments in the future.
GO!Enterprise technology will underpin the implementation of the entire project. Globo will receive at least 60% of the project contract value through the direct sale of licences, application development services and consulting. The project is scheduled to complete at the end of 2015.
Globo's CEO, Costis Papadimitrakopoulos, commented:
"This is another great win for Globo and Globo Technologies S.A., our associate. This contract demonstrates the quality of our GO!Enterprise product, as well as the power of an integrated approach to security and applications development.
This project will enable Globo to gain substantial experience in the law enforcement and homeland security markets, helping us to pursue similar international projects in the future.
This win also demonstrates the importance of our strategy of combining expert consulting and development services as a way of winning large contracts. Our Mobility Business Solutions (MBS) arm - bolstered by the acquisition of the services division of Sourcebits - is growing in strength and this win is an endorsement of our approach."
