Appointment of Finance Director

Futura Medical plc (AIM: FUM), the pharmaceutical group that develops innovative products for consumer healthcare, is pleased to announce that Derek Martin, who joined Futura as Financial Controller in April 2007, has been appointed to the Board of Futura as Finance Director with immediate effect. 

Derek Adrian Martin, age 47, is a chartered accountant with a breadth of experience gained across a number of sectors, including technology and retail, at private and publicly quoted companies of varying sizes.

Prior to joining Futura, Mr Martin was a financial controller at Thales.  Between 2005 and 2007 he was financial controller at Links of London Limited, the jewellery chain, before its disposal to Folli Follie, and between 2001 and 2005 he was financial controller at Entuity Limited, a US software company. Mr Martin gained AIM experience in the role of financial controller at World Telecom plc, between 1996 and 2001, prior to the company's sale to Torc Telecom Limited.

James Barder, Futura's Chief Executive, said: "I am delighted to welcome Derek to the role of Finance Director and to Futura's Board. He has worked at Futura in the role of Financial Controller since April 2007 and has proved himself to be a highly competent finance executive. I look forward to his contribution to Futura's Board."
