Filtronic PLC09 December 2005 Filtronic plc Trading update Following the end of the current interim period on 30 November 2005, Professor JD Rhodes, CBE, FRS, FREng, Chairman of Filtronic plc ('Filtronic'), a leadingprovider of customised microwave electronic subsystems for the wirelesstelecommunications and defence industries, issued the following statement ontrading for this interim period: 'As announced at our AGM, we have discontinued our loss making WirelessInfrastructure operation in Australia and restructured our sales approach inmerchant semiconductors, closing a sales office in the US. The costs of around£1m associated with these decisions have been borne in the first half of thisfinancial year. Underlying trading performance for the six months ended 30 November 2005 of thetwo continuing divisions, Wireless Infrastructure and Integrated Products, is inline with expectations.'
