Filtronic PLC02 December 2005 For release11.00am, 02 December 2005 Filtronic plc Retirement of Mr Alan Needle Filtronic plc ("Filtronic"), a leading global designer and manufacturer ofcustomised microwave electronic subsystems for the wireless telecommunicationsand defence industries, announces that Mr Alan Needle, CEO of the WirelessInfrastructure Division and a director of Filtronic plc, has requested to retireearly for personal reasons. The Board has accepted this request and he willleave the company on 31st December 2005. John Roulston, Group CEO, will assumedirect responsibility for the Wireless Infrastructure Division, effective from1st January 2006. Professor Rhodes said: "Alan Needle has guided Filtronic to a world-leading position in the supply oftransmit-receive modules for cellular base-stations and established thecompany's low-cost manufacturing bases in China and Hungary.
