No Current Impact on Fresnillo
Fresnillo plc,Β the world's largest primary silver producer andΒ Mexico's second largest gold producer, has been advised by its parent company,Β PeΓ±oles, thatΒ one of the sections of theΒ union operating atΒ the Met-MexΒ metallurgical complexΒ has stopped work over a disputeΒ on the annual contract review.Β ThisΒ stoppage currently has no impact on Fresnillo'sΒ operationsΒ as it is limited to the lead-silver refinery unit and agreements have been reached throughout the rest of the metallurgical complex and the lead smelter and the zinc refinery are operating as usual.Β In the event that this stoppageΒ is not resolved in the short-termΒ and in order to ensure that there is no interruption to its operations,Β Fresnillo isΒ alreadyΒ examining alternative optionsΒ for its concentrate treatment requirementsΒ in case Met-MexΒ wereΒ unable toΒ receive and process furtherΒ lead concentrates.Β
