Voting Rights and Share Capital

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rules (DTR 5.6.1R) First Quantum Minerals Ltd. ("the Company") hereby notifies the market that at 31 January 2010:

The number of the Company's common shares in issue was 79,607,770

The number of the Company's common shares held in Treasury was 706,155

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company

(excluding shares held in Treasury) is 78,901,615

The above figure (78,901,615) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine whether they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
