FIRST QUANTUM MINERALS LTD. AND KIWARA PLC ANNOUNCE SUSPENSION OF TRADING IN KIWARA'S SHARES ON AIM

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. ("First Quantum", TSX Symbol "FM", LSE Symbol "FQM") and Kiwara PLC ("Kiwara", LSE AIM Symbol - "KIW", JSE Symbol "KWR") today announce that following the approval by Kiwara's shareholders of the proposed scheme of arrangement (as announced on 11 January 2010) pursuant to which First Quantum would acquire the entire issued share capital of Kiwara (the "Scheme"), trading in the Kiwara shares has been suspended on AIM today, January 28, 2010, pending the Court hearing being held later today to sanction the Scheme. The trade in the shares will be suspended on the JSE on Monday, 1 February 2010 and terminated from commencement of business on Tuesday, 9 February 2010, or such later date as may be requested by Kiwara and approved by the JSE.
