Fyffes PLC29 February 2008 Fyffes plc Stock Exchange Announcement Fyffes plc announces that Jimmy Tolan has advised the Board of his intention toresign as Chief Executive, with effect from 30 April 2008, in order to take upthe role of Chief Executive of Vhi Healthcare. The Board is pleased that he hasagreed to accept an invitation to continue as a non-executive director of theCompany. To ensure a seamless transition while the Board considers the issue ofsuccession, Executive Chairman David McCann, will assume responsibility for therole of Chief Executive, which he previously held from 1995 to 2006. David McCann said: "Jimmy has been a key member of the Group's management team since he joinedFyffes in 1990. As head of corporate development for most of that time, he wasdeeply involved in the Group's acquisition led growth over the past two decadesand was subsequently appointed Chief Executive at the beginning of 2007. Heleaves a strong and experienced management team in Fyffes which is capable ofbuilding on the progress achieved in the first year of the Group's medium termstrategic plan, which aims to double the size of the business by 2011. We arepleased that Jimmy is remaining as a non-executive director and wish him well inhis new role at the Vhi." Jimmy Tolan said: "I have enjoyed my eighteen years with Fyffes immensely and am pleased that Iwill have a continuing involvement with the Group as a non-executive director.It is the right time for me personally to move on to a new role in a sector inwhich I have always had a particular interest.
