Pre-close trading update
Prior to entering its close period, Entertainment One Ltd. (LSE: ETO), the independent international entertainment group, is pleased to announce the following update on trading for the financial year ended 31 March 2011.
The Company expects results for the financial year to be in line with recently upgraded market expectations.
The Film business enjoyed success in February and March with the theatrical release of Gnomeo & Juliet in the UK and Canada and the DVD release of RED. The Television business is on schedule to deliver another successful year with the number of half hours produced in line with expectations. In Family, Peppa Pig has had a successful start to its broadcasting in the US on Nick Jr. following its initial broadcast in February.
In line with the Group's strategy, the Company has now closed its remaining retail stores in Canada. The financial performance of the retail business (including closure costs) will be reported as Discontinued Operations in the results for the financial year ended 31 March 2011.
Results for the financial year ended 31 March 2011 will be announced on 23 May 2011.
