Electric Word PLC28 March 2006 28 March 2006 ELECTRIC WORD PLC CHAIRMAN'S AGM STATEMENT At today's Annual General Meeting of specialist information publisher ElectricWord plc, the chairman, Peter Rigby said: "Trading so far this year has been ahead of 2005 and is in line with the Board'sexpectations in both the Public Sector Management and Sports publishingoperating divisions. "SportBusiness Group, which was acquired at the end of December, is progressingwell and integration of the business is on schedule. Revenues from andparticipation in our first sports industry conference, which opens tomorrow,have exceeded expectations. "We have also been encouraged by Thursday's Budget statement on funding foreducation and sport, our two biggest market sectors. The additional investmentin state education, especially the continuing devolution of funds directly toschools, will provide us with further opportunities to support the professionaldevelopment of teachers and managers. We will also be exploring publishingopportunities presented by the new School Olympics initiative and the £600m ofadditional funding for elite athletes leading up to 2012. "2006 looks set to be another exciting year for the Group as we aim to continuethe organic development of the business and review appropriate acquisitionopportunities to add scale in our well defined areas."
