Board Appointments

eg solutions plc ("eg" or "the Company"; LSE-AIM: EGS), the back office optimisation software company, announces that Spencer ("Spence") Albert Mallder, Senior Vice President, General Manager Workforce Optimisation and Chief Technology Officer of Aspect Software Inc ("Aspect"), is joining eg's Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from today.

In addition, Robert ("Rob") Owen Glenn is joining eg's Board as Chief Operating Officer, also with effect from today.

In February 2013, Aspect entered in a strategic partnership and reseller agreement with eg, making an equity investment of £1.25 million for a 10.69 per cent holding in the company. Under an agreement governing the relationship between Aspect and eg, Aspect is entitled to appoint a Director to eg's Board.

Spence Mallder

Aged 50 years, Mr Mallder joined Aspect in October 2012. He has leadership responsibility for Aspect's workforce optimisation software and solutions business as well as for all areas of technology strategy, including product and solution delivery.

His career spans 25 years in software and technology services, sales and development, where he has held a number of senior management positions.

Immediately prior to joining Aspect, he was Chief Technology Officer at Ziftit, an internet start-up in social commerce and online gifting. Prior to that, between 2006 and 2011 he was Senior Vice President, Product Development, at Escalate Retail where he was responsible for product management, product engineering, quality assurance, and engineering services, for a portfolio of 20 applications across three business units, and was instrumental in driving increased profitability through improving efficiency, quality, and predictability of the company's products.

From 2001 to 2006, he was a Partner at IBM's Consulting Services Group where he served Fortune 100 clients with complex business and technology strategy and implementation projects. In 2011 he founded Software Sapience, LLC, providing complex solution design, planning, architecture design, and CTO services assistance to enterprises and startups.

During the previous 17 years from 1984 to 2001, he had a successful career in management consultancy with firms including Mainspring, Ernst & Young and Booz Allen Hamilton.

Mr Mallder holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Illinois State University.

Rob Glenn

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr Glenn will be responsible for sales and business development in the UK and EMEA, together with project delivery, software support, development and professional services worldwide.

Aged 47 years, Mr Glenn is an experienced senior software executive whose career of 26 years in the enterprise software industry has included senior positions with responsibility for business development, operations, sales and marketing, in a wide range of international markets.

Mr Glenn joins eg from PROS Pricing where he was General Manager of EMEA operations since November 2011. Prior to that he was Senior Vice President International Operations at Global 360 (2008 to 2011); Group Sales and Marketing Director of Gresham Computing Plc (2006 to 2008); Vice President and Regional Director UK, Ireland, Middle East and North Africa at Tibco Software Inc. (2004 to 2006) following the acquisition of Staffware Plc where he worked from 1999 and held a number of senior positions, including Managing Director of Staffware, UK, Ireland, Eastern Europe and India from 2002 to 2004.

Mr Glenn graduated with a BSc in Chemistry and Computer Science from De Montford University in 1989 and spent his early career with SD-Scicon/EDS, ViewStar UK Limited and Mosaix UK Limited.

Non-Executive Chairman, John O'Connell, commented:

Mr Glenn currently holds 19,108 ordinary shares of 1 pence in the Company. 

There are no other disclosures in respect of Messrs Mallder and Glenn required under Rule 17 or Schedule 2 (g) of the AIM Rules.
