e2v wins β¬10m ESA space science contract

e2v has been awarded a β¬10m (Β£8.5m) contract to deliverΒ Charge Coupled Device (CCD) imaging sensorsΒ for the European Space Agency's (ESA) Euclid space science mission.
Β
This contract followsΒ theΒ successfulΒ development contract awarded to e2v in 2010 and the revenue will be realised over the five years to 2018.
Β
The satellite is expected to launch in 2020 and during a 6 year missionΒ in orbit itΒ will surveyΒ up to two billion galaxies,Β to better understandΒ theΒ expandingΒ geometry of theΒ universe.
