Appointment of Non-Executive Chairman

e2v technologies plc, the specialist provider of technology solutions for high performance systems, is pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Johnson as its new Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 31 March 2013.

Mr Johnson has considerable experience as an independent Non-Executive Director, developed over the last decade, and is currently, amongst other roles, Chairman of Synthomer plc (formerly named Yule Catto & Co plc), a FTSE250 speciality chemical company. His experience encompasses international business development and a varied range of strategic corporate activity, in multiple sectors and geographies.

In July 2012, e2v announced that Chris Geoghegan had informed the Board that he would not stand for re-election at the next AGM. Mr Geoghegan will resign from the Board with effect from 31 March 2013.

Mr Geoghegan commented:

"e2v has made significant progress following the major restructuring of both the balance sheet and the business over the last three years. The focus is now on the execution of the Company's growth strategy and I wish Neil, and indeed all the team at e2v, all the best for the future."

Mr Johnson, the Chairman elect of e2v commented:

Neil Johnson's biography:

Mr Johnson, a former Chairman of Umeco plc (2009-2012), Hornby plc (1998-2013) and Cybit Holdings plc (2001-2010), is the current Chairman of Synthomer plc (formerly named Yule Catto & Co plc) (2012-to date), and Motability Finance Limited (unquoted company) (2002-to date) and is an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Business Growth Fund. With strong commercial and executive experience in the engineering and automotive industries, My Johnson was CEO of the RAC Group until 1999 having previously run European automotive operations within British Aerospace. He has also served a term, on secondment, as Director General of the Engineering Employers Federation. Mr Johnson has held extensive Non-Executive and Executive appointments which have included the role of Chairman at RSM Tenon Group plc (2000-2006). He is a member of a Ministry of Defence Advisory Board, and from 2009 - 2012 was as independent member, Home Office Appointed, of the Metropolitan Police Authority. He was previously an Advisor to two Prime Ministers in the Cabinet Office Charter Unit. He also advises, or is a Trustee of, a number of Private Companies and Charitable Trusts.

There are no further details requiring disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
