ACAL PLC - NEW BOARD APPOINTMENT

Acal plc ("Acal") announces that Ian Fraser, Group Chief Executive of Brammer plc ("Brammer"), has been appointed a Non-Executive Director of Acal with effect from 1 January 2010.

Prior to joining Brammer in 1998, Mr Fraser worked for Reliance Security Group plc, initially as Managing Director (1991-93) and subsequently as Group Managing Director (1993-98). His earlier career was mainly spent with Raychem Corporation in senior management positions.

There are no matters requiring disclosure under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.

BFI Optilas is a private specialised distributor of electronic and photonic components, modules and systems across Europe, as well as supplying value-added calibration and maintenance services and it is anticipated that the combined group will have over 14,000 customers across Europe.
