Debenhams plc 

An application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange for a listing of 8,054,691 ordinary shares of 0.01p each of Debenhams plc to be admitted to the Official List. The shares are to be issued on 16 January 2009 to existing shareholders following their election to participate in the Company's Scrip Dividend Scheme.

The shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary share capital of the company.
