Director Change - Alistair Groom
Charles Taylor plc (LSE: CTR), a leading international provider of professional services to clients in the global insurance market, announces that Alistair Groom, Executive Director and Head of Management Services - UK & International, has advised the Board of his intention to retire in early 2014.
The Board would like to thank Alistair for his contribution over the 35 years of services to the Group and in particular his leadership of the management of Charles Taylor's mutual insurance company client, the Standard Club. The Standard Club has asked Alistair to remain on the club's board and it is anticipated that he will take the role of Non-Executive Chairman of The Standard Club Europe Ltd. He is also expected to continue in a part time role with Charles Taylor.
Charles Taylor plc, with the full support of the Standard Club board, has confirmed that Alistair Groom will be succeeded as Chief Executive Officer of Charles Taylor's Standard Club business management line by Jeremy Grose, currently Chief Operating Officer of the business line.
The Group will advise the market in due course about Alistair's date of retirement.
David Marock, Group Chief Executive Officer, said:
"We will mark Alistair's retirement fully in 2014. I would, however, like to thank him now for his remarkable contribution to Charles Taylor and the Standard Club since he joined the Group in 1977. I am delighted that he has agreed to continue his long involvement with the businesses. His huge experience and astute guidance will be a great asset as we continue to progress our business plans."
