Development of new child-friendly football-focussed social network
Westside, the AIM listed investment vehicle, is developing a child-friendly, football-focussed, social network dedicated to children aged 7 to 17. The development of the site will be assisted by the existing involvement of Westside in sporting activities focussed on children through its Sport in Schools subsidiary, in tandem with the acquisition of certain content and intellectual property rights that will both speed development and provide an original, attractive and entertaining facility for children.
Westside CEO Geoffrey Simmonds said, "With an established presence in the children's sports industry through our successful Sport in Schools subsidiary that tutors in excess of 15,000 children every week in 115 schools across London and the Home Counties, we are well placed to create an original and entertaining site for children. We are focussed on developing this social network through organic growth and potential acquisition opportunities, and utilising our contacts with high profile sports personalities to create an innovative site, which I look forward to updating the market on in due course."
