King Systems Milestone Payment

Consort Medical plc ("Consort Medical") (LSE: CSRT), is pleased to announce that it has received the US$10.0 million (£5.9 million)1 milestone payment following the disposal of King Systems - an airway management company - to Ambu A/S in February 2013. Maximum consideration was agreed at up to US$170 million (£109.7 million)2 , of which Consort received net cash consideration of US$123.3 million (£79.6 million)2 at completion.

Contingent consideration payments were agreed as part of the disposal of King Systems, given the anticipated near term improvements in the financial performance of the business. The contingent payments included the payment of US$10.0 million announced today, to recognise the first commercial sale of the King Vision low-cost blade.

Jonathan Glenn, Consort Medical's Chief Executive commented: "We are pleased to see the launch of the King Vision low cost blade, which we expect to add further impetus to the sales of the King Vision products under Ambu's ownership."
