Appointment of Jane Dale as non-executive Director

The Board of Chesnara is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Dale as an independent non-executive director, with effect from 19 May 2016. Upon her appointment Jane will join the Chesnara plc Nomination & Governance Committee and the Audit & Risk Committee. Jane will also be joining the Board of Countrywide Assured plc as a Non-Executive director.

Jane has over 30 years' extensive financial and operational experience in the financial and insurance sector. She has previously held senior finance and managing director roles at AIG Life Limited, Aviva Group, and Legal & General Group plc. Jane has also held the position of independent non-executive director of British Gas Services Limited since 2009 and is currently the Chairman of BHSF Group Ltd.

In addition Eithne McManus will be appointed as non-executive director to the Countrywide Assured plc Board with effect from 19 May 2016. She is a non-executive director of UIA (Insurance) Ltd and a director of Alban Actuarial Solutions. Eithne was previously a director of Countrywide Assured plc and the City of Westminster Assurance Company Limited both of which are part of the Chesnara Group. Joining Eithne on the Board, as Finance Director of Countrywide Assured plc, is Andrew Richards. Andrew is experienced in the life insurance sector and has strong financial and regulatory reporting knowledge. Andrew has been Group Financial Controller at Chesnara since early 2013 and previously worked for Deloitte LLP for over ten years.

The Chairman, Peter Mason, commented:
