Clarification re RSH Update on BeST

Properties owned by other landlords

Civitas, a leading social housing REIT, notes the update notice issued yesterday afternoon on BeST housing association by the Regulator of Social Housing ("RSH") in respect of a breach of the Homes standard relating to health and safety.

For clarity, this notice does not relate to any financial matters, nor does it relate to any properties owned by Civitas. In addition, we are advised by BeST that the statutory checks to which the notice relates have now been undertaken or instructed.

This notice has no effect on the Civitas properties leased to BeST, which continues to meet its financial and other obligations to Civitas and to provide safe, high quality homes for tenants whilst producing rental income as expected.

Civitas continues to enhance its property monitoring activities, including the appointment of a dedicated Head of Asset Management and the establishment of an ongoing rolling programme of on-site property inspections.

Civitas is satisfied with the financial and operational performance and management of its property portfolio.
