DIRECTORS' INTERESTS IN SHARES
1. On 16 July 2009, a company within the Harris Ventures Group sold 20,000 Carpetright shares at a price of 611.5p. On the same day, the Sheergold Grantor Settlement, whose trustees include Lady Harris and whose beneficiaries include the children of Mr Martin Harris, purchased 20,000 Carpetright shares at a price of 611.5p. Accordingly, this shareholding now forms part of Lord Harris's non-beneficial interests and Mr Harris's beneficial interests.
2. The beneficial shareholdings for Lord Harris and Mr Harris are now 12,559,383 shares (18.7%) and 3,959,871 shares (5.9%), respectively. Lord Harris's non-beneficial holding is now 229,514 shares (0.3%). Overall, the Harris family interests remain unchanged.
3. The Company has also received notice from Lord Harris and from Mr Harris that, as at 16 July 2009, the number of shares over which security has been granted by the Harris Ventures Group (as announced on 23 January 2009) has further reduced to 10,659,970.
